In spring 2012, Peugeot launches its new "segment B" model, the 208.
This exhibition celebrates the birth of the new baby with a retrospective of the famous 200 series.
Launched in 1929, this car was the first to use the three-figure name and prefigured what is now called "segment B". Its success enabled the Marque to weather the financial crisis of the 1930s. It remained in production for eight years, and three versions were made.
A very popular model launched in 1938, its shape a return to the streamlined design and technological advances of the so-called "fuseauSochaux". Production stopped during the war and resumed from 1945 to 1949.
The symbolof the rebirth of Peugeot in 1948, this car was strikingly modern and technologically advanced. Over a million were produced: a first for the Marque.
Launched in 1965, the innovative 204 went against tradition: FWD, transverse-mounted overhead cam engine, front disk brakes, four independent wheels, etc.
This car was launched amid great media fanfare in 1983 and helped boost the brand at a difficult time. It became both a best-selling road car (5,278,054 sold) and a world champion rally vehicle: quite something for future 200 generations to beat!
Clubs involved in the "Peugeot Adventure" share this area. Those that are directly concerned by the history of the "200s" have organized related displays, while others present their all-time favourite models.
